Eric Thormaehlen
Life Coach
Gottman Marriage Therapy trained, Trauma-trained, Registered Behavioral Technician for Autistic Children
I’m Eric Thormaehlen, a Life Coach and an LMFT graduate of Lamar University, license pending. I am well-researched in trauma therapy and specialize in individuals with autism. I’ve been a registered behavioral technician for children with Autism for almost 8 years and strive to utilize my long-term experience to help children, couples, and families involving special needs individuals with specialized counseling. My experience allows me to help these individuals with functional communication, symptom management, and behavioral modification. In addition, this experience allows me to have a great basis to help the guardians and siblings of these individuals who sometimes struggle with feelings of depression, anxiety, uncertainty, jealousy, or any other related feelings.
When I conduct therapy, I am a firm believer that everyone is different. Therefore, I possess various types of therapy styles such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and Gottman Method Therapy for couples. Having multiple therapy style options allows me to treat each individual uniquely, thus allowing for a more accurate treatment.
Regardless of age, sex, race, or religion, I believe everyone deserves to live a happy and fulfilled life! It is my aim in every session to create a comfortable, non-judgmental atmosphere filled with kindness and understanding. Thank you for considering me to walk alongside you in your time of need and I look forward to helping you achieve the life you deserve.
