INTENSIVE WORK
How do EMDR Intensives Differ from traditional EMDR?
Typical EMDR sessions occur weekly with 45-minute sessions. This can leave limited time for reprocessing due to check-in at the beginning of a session and winding down at the end. EMDR intensives allow for extended reprocessing, fostering accelerated healing.
EMDR practiced in an intensive format can help people who are very busy and have a hard time working weekly sessions into their schedules. Scheduling intensive sessions can offer once every two weeks or even once a month scheduling and still produce effective results.
EMDR intensives allow for people to travel from other areas where EMDR may not be readily available. If needed, sessions can be scheduled for 2 – 3 continuous days.
What are the benefits of EMDR Intensives?
By condensing therapy into intensive sessions, clients can find relief in a shorter timeframe than traditional therapy. Additionally, clients who already participate in individual therapy may benefit from EMDR intensives as an adjunctive therapy to get unstuck from trauma.
EMDR Intensive Pricing:
- 2-hr sessions – $450
- 3-hr sessions – $700
- 4-hr sessions – $900
**Please keep in mind individuals need to be evaluated before scheduling an EMDR Intensive to make sure EMDR intensive work is appropriate. Usually there is one intake session and one resource session at 1.5 hours each ($300). These can be accomplished in an on-line format.
